a reminder...

to go to the word instead of vindication
to go to the word instead of defensiveness
to go to the word instead of self righteousness
to go to the word instead of control

to go to the word is to die to control.
to go to the word is to take lies on the chin
to go to the word is to let go of image control

to go to the word is to remember that when you stop to take in the reality that you are loved just because you exist – you find out how much of your efforts were about earning something you already have.

to go to the word is to remind yourself that you did not make the world and it will continue to exist without your efforts.

[this was something i just jotted down in staff meeting this morning. i love those words that just come suddenly. i think in part they came off another encouraging evening with scott (and the psalms). i love dreaming with other dreamers. here are some other things that i am sure to write on that came from this time (since you asked): social networking (facebook demons jake), american social outcasts vs haitian ones (constistent communities), providence vision (the future), one event (coming soon), clairborne (questions about the book), fresh starts (one day at a time), and block parties (the poor in providence)...oh the anticipation - ha. ] so much love.
